How does ranking work on the search and category pages?
The main criteria on how the search and category pages are listed are, in order of relevance:
- the search and category keywords you entered; and
- the search and category filters you selected.
For the products that fit the criteria in which you are looking, the ranking is ordered based on the following criteria:
- the amount of times the products have been purchased and clicked on in the last days both on the EU platform and the Turkish platform. The most weight is put on recently sold products and looked at in the EU and the least weight put on products looked at in Turkey over a period of time.
How do product page recommendations work?
The main ranking criteria for our recommendations on product pages are in order of relevance for similar products:
i) matching based on the products that have been bought and/or looked at in the same shopping session or in fixed time intervals, or are included in the same wishlist; and
ii) whether the categories and products match each other.
If this doesn't yield enough similar products, the search and category page ranking will be applied to show popular products in the category to which the item you are looking at belongs. For a cross-sale, the main ranking criteria are the same, with the exception that instead of looking at category and product matching, the algorithm looks at a broader list of categories, products and brands, and identifies products that are most likely to be sold together.
What happens if two or more sellers offer the same product?
In the event that the same product is sold by more than one seller, which seller's product is shown first is primarily determined by the product price, whereby a lower price is prioritized over a higher price.
In the event that prices are roughly similar, factors such as quantity, seller quality scores, and delivery time determine whose product is shown first.
